How the guides work

Our guides cover ten Caribbean ports plus Newport, Rhode Island; Boston, Massachusetts; Portland, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John, New Brunswick. Halifax represents Nova Scotia in this collection; these routes do not cover other Nova Scotia ports. Each guide links to the port, tourism authority or attraction sources used for its factual details. Each guide displays its own last-reviewed date. A separate content-updated date identifies a substantive guide or attraction change. Attraction cards also show their source-check and content-update dates. That date changes only after its sources are reviewed, not whenever the site is rebuilt. It is not a guarantee of current conditions. Use “Report outdated information” to open an email draft identifying the guide or outing; sending it requires your email app. The outings are PortBow’s suggested combinations, not packaged tours or operator endorsements.

Time and budget estimates

Itinerary durations include outward and return transfer allowances. Your selected buffer is additional time before all aboard. All clock entries use ship time on the same day; we do not read schedules, convert time zones or monitor delays. Published hours are local time at the attraction. Opening hours and availability are not checked for your travel date; compare local hours with ship time yourself.

Budgets are rounded per-adult USD planning allowances for basic transport, food and the suggested stop. They are not quoted prices. Private taxis for a solo traveler, activities, equipment, shopping and upgrades may exceed them. Confirm actual prices before committing. These estimates do not guarantee a return time or an accessible route.

Attractions and transport

Attraction cards compare estimates from the selected terminal’s public exit. Custom days use the upper end of travel and visit ranges, direct inter-attraction connections where listed, a 30-minute refreshment break, and 15 minutes at each end for pier access. Newport’s Perrotti Park tender arrival uses 45 minutes outward and 60 minutes back instead, for queues, transfers and access. Enter the earlier last-tender or all-aboard time as the ship return deadline; your buffer remains additional. These generous planning allowances do not replace the crew’s tender instructions. The selected all-aboard buffer is additional. These allowances are not live route calculations.

Halifax and Saint John providers charge in CAD; PortBow uses editorial USD allowances without live currency conversion. Taxi ranges are editorial USD allowances, labeled per vehicle or per person. Vehicle fares are divided by the number of adults sharing; per-person fares are not. Custom budgets include listed admission allowances and $20 per adult for refreshments. A shared San Juan fort pass is counted once. Check actual fares, accessibility and attraction opening dates. A route without a verified bus connection offers no bus estimate.

Keep a day sheet offline

Use “Print / Save PDF” on a suggested, custom or saved plan to open a compact day sheet. Save it as a PDF through your browser and keep it in Files or Downloads before going ashore. The saved document can be read without internet; source links and reopening the planner still need a connection. It is a snapshot of your plan, so save a new copy after making changes.

Your plans and privacy

No account is required. Saved plans use local browser storage and stay on this device until removed or browser data is cleared. Google Analytics is used only if you allow analytics in Privacy settings. We do not enable advertising storage through these controls. Read our Privacy & Cookie Notice for details. The hosting provider may keep ordinary web-server logs.

Sharing puts the port, terminal, times and chosen filters into a link. Anyone you send it to can read those details. Share links do not contain your name, cabin, booking number or ship name. External source links open third-party sites with their own policies.

Artwork and identity

The bow-and-horizon mark is an original PortBow design. The homepage uses an original AI-generated Caribbean-inspired illustration. The Newport, Boston, Portland, Halifax and Saint John cards use AI-generated coastal illustrations, interpreted decoratively rather than as exact views. Port illustrations are decorative original vector artwork, not destination photographs, maps or representations of specific facilities.

Independent by design

PortBow is not a cruise line, travel agency or booking service. There are no paid listings or affiliate links in this first release.
